Terms of use
Last updated October 26, 2026
These terms cover Calzone, the calorie deficit calculator and food journal for iPhone, and Calzone Plus. Calzone is made by Brogan LLC (“Brogan”, “we” or “us”). Calzone used to be called Fuel, and these terms cover it under either name. By using Calzone, you agree to them.
Your licence
Calzone is licensed to you under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the Standard EULA). These terms add to it. Where the two disagree, the Standard EULA governs. Questions and support requests about Calzone go to us, not to Apple.
Not medical advice
Calzone's calorie targets, its BMR and TDEE figures, and the nutrition facts it shows are estimates, for general information. They aren't medical advice, and Calzone isn't a medical device. It doesn't diagnose, treat or prevent any condition.
- Talk to your doctor before you start a diet or change how much you eat, especially if you're pregnant or breastfeeding, have a medical condition, take medication, or have had an eating disorder.
- Estimates can be wrong for you. The Mifflin-St Jeor equation and activity levels describe people on average, and your body may differ.
- Food data can be wrong. Nutrition facts come from USDA FoodData Central, from food labels Calzone reads, and from what you and others enter. They may be incomplete or inaccurate, so check the label when it matters, such as for an allergy.
Who can use Calzone
Calzone is meant for people 13 and older. It isn't made for children under 13. If you're under 18, talk to a parent or guardian and to your doctor before you use Calzone to change what you eat.
Your account
You need an account to use Calzone, and you sign in with Apple, Google or an email address and password. Keep your sign-in details to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else is using your account. You can delete your account at any time, as the privacy policy explains.
Calzone Plus
Setting a weight goal, getting your daily calorie target and logging your food are free. Calzone Plus is an optional auto-renewing subscription that gives you custom nutrient goals and lets you base your daily target on Apple Health energy or on energy you enter yourself.
The App Store shows the price in your country, including any tax, before you buy.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
- Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your Apple Account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
- If an offer includes a free trial, it becomes a paid subscription when the trial ends, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before then.
- To manage or cancel it, tap Manage Subscription in Calzone's settings, or open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and you keep Calzone Plus until the end of the period you've paid for.
- Calzone Plus goes with your Calzone account. Sign in to the same account on a new iPhone and you have it there too.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its own policies, at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- If the price changes, Apple tells you before your next renewal and asks for your consent where the law requires it.
Your journal
You own what you put in Calzone: your food journal, your own foods and recipes, and your goals. We store it so the app can sync it between your devices, and we use it only to run Calzone, as the privacy policy explains.
You're responsible for what you enter, including that you have the right to use any food names, labels or recipes you add.
Using Calzone
- Don't use Calzone to break the law, to deceive anyone, or to infringe anyone else's rights.
- Don't try to get into other people's accounts or data, or to disrupt or overload the services Calzone relies on.
- Don't copy, modify, reverse engineer or resell Calzone, except as the Standard EULA or the law allows.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules.
Disclaimer
Calzone helps you plan what you eat and keep track of it. It doesn't guarantee that you'll lose, gain or keep any weight, or any other outcome.
Calzone is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and any warranty that Calzone will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of harmful components, or that its results will meet your needs.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Brogan isn't liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, use or goodwill, arising from your use of Calzone or your inability to use it, even if we were told such damages were possible. Our total liability for any claim about Calzone is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for Calzone Plus in the 12 months before the claim and US$50.
Some places don't allow these exclusions or limits, so some of them may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have as a consumer under the law where you live.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes go to the state or federal courts in Georgia, unless the law where you live lets you bring them where you live.
These terms and Brogan's
Brogan's terms and conditions cover all of our apps and the brogan.io website. These are the more specific terms for Calzone. If the two ever say different things about Calzone, these terms apply.
Changes
If these terms change, the new version will be posted here with a new date. If a change is material, we'll post it here at least 30 days before it takes effect and, where we can, tell you in the app. If you keep using Calzone after that, the new terms apply.
